If you’ve ever worked on a code base that had multiple development branches and a maintanence branch, you’ll appreciate the new Merge Tracking feature in SubVersion 1.5. SubVersion has always supported merging but it was hard to determine what code from which branch was merged into which other branch at what point in time (hope thats not too confusing). ….but if you happen to be working on a project that has lots of sub-development on separate branches and bug fixes happening on a maintanence branch, Merge Tracking is all good news
I can’t wait for the updated GUI for Eclipse.
Sit back, relax, and watch this video that covers testing, quick fixes, code completion and refactoring in Eclipse.
It’s resolved and the two companies are now working together…. I’m happy that this issue got resolved, but the fine print in the Blackboard Developers Network contract makes me feel alarmed. How could iParadigms sign away intellectual property by joining the Blackboard Developers Network? Will this have a negative effect on companies making building blocks? What about Universities making building blocks?
Interesting new content-aware algorithm to resize images. It seems to be able to remove un-important areas when an image is resized: Check out the YouTube video. It’s very impresive, but as the image is altered, I’m not 100% sold on the concept. The paper entitled “Seam Carving for Content-Aware Image Resizing” was presented at Siggraph 2007. If you feel the need to play, an ImageJ plugin has just been made. Woohoo!!!
