Each new technology inevitably has to reinvent the wheel - the wheel this time being the troublesome web-based Rich Text Editor. It is a wheel that has yet to be perfected! You’ll know what I mean if you were ever involved with integrating an editor with a CMS/LMS or had to deal with the formatting aftermath! So I guess the world wide web does indeed need a new editor on the block and hopefully Silverlight might just be up to the task. I will however reserve my verdict until I see the clean up from MS Word copy and paste functionality!
SIMILE, the team behind the awesome Timeline and Timeplot embedded visualization tools are also working on making mashups where no API exists super easy. Potluck allows web pages to be screen scraped and introduces a simultaneous editing technique that has to be seen to be believed. There is also a nice transformation of the MIT Course catalog, though it uses lots other other tools from SIMILIE, Potluck is not used.
I don’t condone Screen scraping but sometimes sites are so slow to introduce an API and improve usability/functionality. This is where tools like Greasemonkey and Potluck become useful.

It must be a good day - I have after all encountered two EDU 2.0 apps. Cohere, from Open Uni UK, takes concept/idea mapping to a new collaborative level. Add ideas, make connections and then discover related ideas and people.
Research paper on Cohere: Towards Web 2.0 Argumentation.
Webducates’ Dragster fits the bill as a EDU 2.0 app. Check out this example activity where users can not only classify existing topics but add new ones as well. The emphasis here is on the fact that this activity can be completed by multiple users asynchronously.

The 37signals IN/OUT app actually makes a lot of sense.
Silverlight seems to finally be ready to compete with Flex/Flash. Recent sightings that have led me to this conclusion:
Could Scott Barnes be responsible? Well he certainly knows what has been missing in the Silverlight feature set!
Well the Blue Screen of Death Screensaver does exist and yes it is made by Microsoft. Maybe they have the patent? I get the Blue Screen so much that I don’t think I’ll bother and download this.
I love DHH presentations. This time he shares A secret on making a profit with online apps - Price! Really I would never have guessed.
I love the way Madonna totally re-invents herself every few years. Its just awesome to watch. "4 Minutes" is number 1 just about everywhere important in the world. ..and if she is not number 1 in your country, the only way to make it important is to buy Madonna songs.
