I threatened to only buy the new Madonna music on iTunes and not on CD as well, if Madonna did not embrace YouTube. It seems Madonna has embraced YouTube. I have power and influence as a Madonna fan.
Madonna can come and vacuum clean my place anytime!
…and now for some Friday fun. It was only a matter of time before a rhyming rapper with good web design know-how emerged and well wanted to rap about it.
Scott Leslie has consolidated a list of ‘get out of LMS (um - jail) free’ content migration tools. Its a good sign that more tools are becoming available and hopefully this will put an end to proprietary lock-in. It was not so long ago that I had to build a tool to export content and activities from an in-house built LMS to the IMS-CP Blackboard format. Seeing the list Scott has put together gives me hope that I will never again be forced to build such a tool. To say it was a nightmare is an understatement!
I continue to be inspired by Smashing Magazine. This time they focus on making data entry pretty with a piece entitled "Web Form Design: Modern Solutions and Creative Ideas". I love the crossword puzzle - Who said filling out a form should be anything other than a puzzle?
I must confess to using Del.icio.us an awful lot but rarely by actually going to the website. The reason is simple, the Del.icio.us Firefox extension encapsulates browsing, bookmarking and tagging into a seamless workflow. I installed the Del.icio.us Facebook app almost a year ago. At first it did not seem all that useful - My recent bookmarks were displayed on my profile page and recent bookmarks of my friends were displayed on my homepage. I find myself these days clicking on some of the recent bookmarks made by my technically minded friends. Facebook coupled with Del.icio.us is actually a very subversive way to gain an insight into what your friends/colleagues are working on, researching or investigating. I’ve become a bookmark spy!
If you happen to live in a country that does not have many Public Holidays, you should move to Queensland, Australia. Count em and weep! ..and yes if they fall on a weekend, we get Monday off!
It is strange what a Google search for “Semiconductor Physics” returns these days: Britney Spears’ Guide to Semiconductor Physics. I am trying to get back into electronics after 12 years away and I am sure using a pic of Britney to help demonstrate the Conduction and Valence bands will have me back on track in no time at all. I would learn faster if the site featured Madonna but I guess thats a site a Madonna fan, such as myself should create.
I had an interesting and amusing telephone discussion with my 9 year old cousin, Celine regarding the planned 4th ‘High School Musical" movie.
Aneesha: I heard there will be a 4th High School Musical movie
Celine: When is it coming out?
Aneesha: Next year. They will release 3 this year. I think in August.
Celine: I hope there is a 5th.
Aneesha: Depends on its popularity.
Celine: Then they should make 10.
Aneesha: That’s a lots of musicals!
Celine: I’d be happy if they made 20.
Aneesha: Wow!
Celine: They should make 40.
Well there you have it - 40 seems to be the magical number. With just 2 movies, Disney channel was able to fill an entire day. So if we have 40, that would make 20 days. OMG!!!!
So I purchased the new Madonna single, "4 minutes" a week or so ago. Its great! Its awesome! I love listening to it, but can’t help but feel something is missing. It took me a week to figure it out. I always bought cd singles and they always had multiple remixes. I love remixes! I loved to play em over and over and over again. I miss remixes! My ipod has no remixes! What am I to do???
