2005 was the year of AJAX frameworks. 2008 seems to be the year of CSS frameworks. I think CSS frameworks are a good idea. Why???? Well they provide a great starting point and are easily tweaked. I am currently using Formy (form layout) and Hartija (print friendly stylesheets) in a project.

Its true - I no longer rely on Notepad for coding anymore. Truth is I’m finding Visual Studio and Eclipse more and more reliable and feature rich than ever before. Some cool new features in Eclipse include:

  • Extract class refactoring
  • Quick assists
  • Editor breadcrumbs

It is truely sad if Madonna and Guy Ritchie are indeed headed for a divorce! Rumour has it that Madonna did not sign a pre-nup? Who knew Madonna was such a romantic? I hope they work things out.

Google trends graph is starting to look interesting in the LMS space. Has Moodle become more popular? Maybe the question is are people researching Moodle via Google as a viable alternative?

All views and forms in Dynamics CRM are directly accessible via a url. I’ve usually had to click ctrl+N to view the url of a form opened in a window. Now I just fire up Fiddler, and refer to the log if I ever need to know the url of a form, a view or an icon. Fiddler does a great job of logging HTTP requests.

I declare my love for jQuery. I love jQuery like no other javascript library.

I needed to build a page with two sortable lists where items could be dragged between the two lists.

Do you have any idea how easy this was to achieve with jQuery????

Super simple with jQuery & jQuery ui. Just make your lists using normal bullet list html syntax, add script references to the jQuery, ui base and sortables js files, and add two lines of javascript to make the lists sortable.

Don’t believe me - go see for yourself

I moment I saw the K’NEX Renegade Run Coaster, I knew I had to buy it immediately. So now I have a coaster to build (with 675 pieces). I’ll post pics when I am done.

I’m kinda thinking K’NEX is cooler than Lego…

Scott Leslie just posted a nifty diagram of his PLE ecosystem. Actually got me thinking about building a tool to allow users to easily express their PLE ecosystem, collate and syndicate activity.
