It is strange what a Google search for “Semiconductor Physics” returns these days: Britney Spears’ Guide to Semiconductor Physics. I am trying to get back into electronics after 12 years away and I am sure using a pic of Britney to help demonstrate the Conduction and Valence bands will have me back on track in no time at all. I would learn faster if the site featured Madonna but I guess thats a site a Madonna fan, such as myself should create.
I had an interesting and amusing telephone discussion with my 9 year old cousin, Celine regarding the planned 4th ‘High School Musical" movie.
Aneesha: I heard there will be a 4th High School Musical movie
Celine: When is it coming out?
Aneesha: Next year. They will release 3 this year. I think in August.
Celine: I hope there is a 5th.
Aneesha: Depends on its popularity.
Celine: Then they should make 10.
Aneesha: That’s a lots of musicals!
Celine: I’d be happy if they made 20.
Aneesha: Wow!
Celine: They should make 40.
Well there you have it - 40 seems to be the magical number. With just 2 movies, Disney channel was able to fill an entire day. So if we have 40, that would make 20 days. OMG!!!!
Want a fast and cheap (ie free) way to prototype XSL-FO? HTML2fo converts basic HTML docs to XSL-FO. It does quite a good job too. Also a great way to learn FO syntax by converting from simple HTML.
I wrote some code to output simple 4 option multiple choice questions to the IMS-QTI standard, a year or so ago. The base template for a multiple choice question turned out to be 300 lines. Export a standard quiz with about 20 questions and well you can do the maths. Bloated XML is anything but human readable. It comes as no shock to me that the OOXML format is bloated, but even I am stunned by the Aspose blog post detailing just how many pages the border spec takes up.
Amazing just how good the Amazon.com recommendation system is getting. The books in this screen grab would really define me to a T this moment, but there is one missing item. Unfortunately to get this item, Amazon would need to combine recommendations with iTunes.
So who wants to guess the missing Item in 4 minutes???? (Clue included)
This is soooo awesome. You will love this new gmail feature. Check it out now and send those 10 emails.
Not to be out done by that Ruby guys on April 1, it seems that Microsoft is going to purchase SpringSource. I can’t wait to use Spring Beans to configure Windows - I can wire up my own Operating System. hehe
Go you must try Ruby on Crack.
The Rails community has a sense of humour. Check out acts_as_asp.net plugin. To truely appreciate the joke, you have to have coded ASP.NET and then discovered Rails in all its DRYness. ….So yes - I totally get it.
